Common questions
What does the percentage mean? Your chance of seeing the aurora from that place right now. It combines how strong the aurora is near you, cloud cover, how dark the sky is and how bright the moon is.
Why 0 % when the aurora is strong? Usually daylight or clouds. The aurora is there, but you could not see it.
Which way do I look? The app tells you: north in the northern hemisphere, south in the southern, or toward the strongest aurora when it is not overhead.
Not getting alerts? Check notifications are allowed for Northlit in your phone settings, and that quiet hours are not covering the night.
